Customer Reviews
At first i thought that these pens were the answers to my prayers. A pen that actually erases, superior to a pencil and a normal pen. It does not smudge like pencil but you can erase just as easily.
The problem I ran into is that they run out of ink 4 times faster than a G6. I literally killed 2 of these pens in 2 weeks. Here is the information Pilot sent me concerning the Frixion and other Pilot models.
Here are a few examples of pens and their Write Out distances. Unfortunately I only have this information in "meters" not in feet.
Frixion = 225m
G-6 ; G2-7= 1000m
P700= 1400m
PV7= 1250m
EasyTouch M= 600m
as you can see, for the convenience of having a good erasable pen you have to buy 4 Frixions to equal 1 g6..... at 1 pen a week i would have to enter my pen purchasing as a line item on my budget.... and you cant refill them, pilot told me that refills are not authorized for the American market.
I saw a display with a video playing of these at Walgreens a few months ago, so I gave them a try. They are unlike any erase-able pens I have ever used before. Other pens leave a deep imprint in the paper when writing, the tips dry out, and don't erase well; none of these are problems with the Pilot FriXion pens. The lines they draw are dark and clear like a typical gel pen without having to press hard and leave an imprint on the paper. They erase extremely well once the ink dries.
The only down side to them is that they can smudge. The smudging is a problem if you don't allow the ink to dry, and using highlighters will wet the ink again causing smudges; so if you highlight your notes, use the highlighter before you write with these pens, and left handed writers may have problems with them.
All in all, they are the best erasable pens on the market but have a little bit of room for improvement.
